Studio QL was founded by Stan Hajost after living in Austin for over 20 years. Stan fell in love with Mid Century Modern design while remodeling his own houses in the early days of Austin’s growth. After retiring from his full-time career as a chemist in 2014, he founded QuarterLab Design Build.
In July of 2018, QuarterLab Design Build rented shop space to fabricate things that were typically being fabricated on site. It wasn’t long before our work caught the eyes of designers, architects and builders and we began fabricating outside of QuarterLab's in-house projects.
As business grew, we doubled our floor space in 2019 by expanding into an adjoining unit and shortly thereafter Studio QL was officially launched in early 2020. While Studio QL is currently working with designers, architects and builders, we have our sights set on our own in-house product line. Stick around for more fun projects.
